Everything changed when we turned back the clocks. We eat much more hot soup and porridge than usual, carefully consider our scarf options, and retire by 9:30 p.m. Now that hibernation time is upon us, it seems fitting to adjust our drinking habits. For the next couple months, we'll focus on brews that invoke fantasies of lounging on bear skin rugs by a roaring fire. The Turkish form of manti dumplings as served at Troya Mediterranean Kitchen has some familiar reference points for Western palates, landing somewhere on the spectrum between dim sum and handmade pasta. A thin wrapper of dough is pinched around a small portion of ground beef, boiled, and served with a paprika yogurt tahini sauce, a drizzle of fruity red pepper oil, and sumac.

The rundown: Taco and nacho bars might be commonplace, but this party puts a spin on do-it-yourself with an empanada bar with different fillings and fixings to contemplate. Empanadas don't appear on the lunch or dinner menus, making this a fleeting special.

Chocoholics and Cathy cartoons rejoice! As of today, The Dandelion Chocolate factory and cafe is officially open for business! Now you can finally watch your chocolate being made and eat it too.
