What: Good Food Jobs Fair

When: September 13th, 8am-12pm and 4pm-7pm

Where: Food Craft Institute, Jack London Square, 65 Webster St, Oakland.

Cost: Free

The rundown: Feel like you have the passion and drive to make a difference in the world of food? Then print up a crisp new resume and bring it to the Food Craft Institute's headquarters during the Good Food Jobs Fair, Open House and Info Session and you'll get a chance to prove it.

Good Food Jobs is a job search site that showcases opportunities for meaningful work in the world of quality food, from positions at farms to farmers markets, restaurants to non-profits, and everything in between. This job fair promises to offer some of the same opportunities, but with the chance to speak face-to-face with several potential employers, including the recently launched Belcampo Meat Company.

Belcampo, sister organization to the Food Craft Institute, is actively seeking team members to run its first outpost: a butcher shop/full-service restaurant located in Larkspur set to open at the end of October. It also owns and runs a sustainable farm in Shasta Valley that produces grass-fed beef which the shop and restaurant will feature, as well as other items: chickens and geese, hot dogs and burgers, donuts and Blue Bottle Coffee. The restaurant will showcase whole-animal cookery, introducing diners to cuts of meat they may not be familiar with -- all of it free range, humane, and organic.

Folks from the Food Craft Institute will be on hand at the fair as well, so if you're interested in learning more about their upcoming classes (burrata making, for example) or starting an artisan food business, they're the ones to talk to. Snacks will be provided by favorite local food crafters, so bring your appetite as well as your enthusiasm and get ready to get started.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
