The latest gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the San Francisco food scene.

What would the city be without Tosca Cafe? Inside Scoop reports the famous S.F. institution's rent has been increased by its strip-club-owning landlord, and that they can't afford the new rate. It looks as though this may only be the first chapter of this story.

Sweet news: Earlier we mentioned that Sift & Cupcake and Dessert Bar opens today. Also, Tablehopper says Victoria Pastry Co., the 89-year-old bakery in North Beach, has also reopened in its new location (700 Filbert at Powell).

There's a new South Park lunch spot. Grub Street discovers Small Foods, a grab-and-go market and cafe, is serving the usual lunch staples of sandwiches, salads, and soups.

Chowhounders have discovered Y&Y Vietnamese Restaurant (sister restaurant to Yummy Yummy) has opened in the inner Richmond. Expect an expanded dessert and drink menu. They also discover another recent opener down the street, Sweethut, is serving all the tapioca tea favorites..

Those who love to DIY their dinner, Tablehopper reminds us the first S.F. location of Shabuway has opened (5120 Geary at 15th Ave.). We teased its opening last week

For all the burger lovers out there, Inside Scoop shares that Roam Artisan Burgers is readying to open their latest location Fillmore this Friday.

And Inside Scoop says the De La Paz's coffee cart is back to brewing outside its pending cafe space in SOMA, that is still about five months out from opening.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
