Craftsman and Wolves debuts at 7 a.m. on June 16. It's a clean, well-lighted place for sweet and savory innovations from William Werner, whose previous work found him as the proprietor of Tell Tale Preserve Co. and executive pastry chef at Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay and Quince.

Werner's new project emerges less than a year from the dissolving of Tell Tale, and Craftsman resurrects some of the favorites from the previous company, including the Hank Williams-referencing Rebel Within. They're presented alongside new creations, such as the limited edition, INXS-tributing Devil Inside, a chocolate toffee cake filled with a foie gras surprise, and Cube Cakes, which look deceptively light and delicate but merely find decadence compressed into a smaller package. Savory sandwiches and salads are available a la carte or as a Picnic Box to take into Dolores Park.

There are light bites here, as well as confections like pate de fruit and chocolate/white shoyu caramels, but most are just as substantial. Werner says he hopes to fill the void for when people don't want to go to a bar or restaurant, but still want a filling treat. A beer and wine license is pending, but for now there is Sightglass Coffee, Naivetea, and evil inventions such as warm sipping caramel with salted butter and croissant shavings.

As for the significance of the name, we can only guess that Werner is the Craftsman and we are the Wolves: Greedy and ravenous for this food.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
