  • Hey pork-lovers! The Humane Society has a new video for you. They got a chance to see some nice behind-the-scenes treatment of pigs at a Wyoming factory farm.
  • Moving on: Sweet Potato Tots with Chipotle Aioli from Vegan Yack Attack! Damn, son. Get me a piece of that action:

  • There's a Veggie Fiesta at Mission High School tomorrow! Be there or be, etc.! I'll try to go, but I have a severe allergy to high school.
  • In celebrity news, Michael Clark Duncan got up with PETA to discuss his switch to vegetarianism. I don't know why, but I love this dude. Such bass in that voice! Hopefully he will get the cruelty connection with dairy and eggs soon and bust heads the vegan way!

  • The Maryland Court of Appeals has declared all pit bulls to be inherently dangerous. Um, what the what? And it's not just pit bulls, it's any dog that looks like a pit bull. Um, what the what? If they are saying it's actually a breed trait, then wouldn't a dog actually have to be genetically that breed to qualify as inherently dangerous? Because otherwise they would only qualify as inherently looking like a pit bull, no? And maybe it's not inherent at all -- maybe some of those street dogs just learn to make pit bull faces to keep people from messing with them. It's all about strategy when you're a dog on the streets. You can read the various negative implications of this declaration, but more importantly, let's look at puppies!
  • In better pet news: This parakeet knows his goddamn address and told it to the nice police men who found him when he was lost. Holy cannoli. I get that he could learn his address, but how did he know to say it at the police station? Dang, parakeet, you're a smarty.
  • Old Billy Clinton was on Ellen chatting it up about veganism. Enjoy.
  • Ellen also had this person Carrie Underwood on the show, talking about her vegan journey. I think she is supposed to be famous too, but I can't verify:

  • Before I depart, I have one more present for you! If you've missed Laura Beck around these parts, I have a pick-me-up for you! It's called "Vegetarians, today is the day you go vegan!" It's part rallying cry, part WTF have you been doing?! JK, that last part is all me.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
