Get a Burger at Mission Community Market's Opening Day

Posted By on Mon, Apr 9, 2012 at 10:00 AM

What: Mission Community Market's Opening Day

When: Thursday, April 12

Where: The Mission District at Bartlett and 22nd Streets

Cost: Admission is free... the fresh produce is not.

The Rundown: This may be the third year of a weekly farmer's market-- but there's always something new going on at Mission Community Market (MCM). This year, vendors like 4505 Meats and Little City Gardens will set up shop for the first time on Bartlett Street to provide shoppers with pastured meats and urban farm produce, respectively.

One more improvement to MCM is its dollar for dollar program. The market will donate $1 to the Mission Health Promotora Project-- an outreach program for bilingual nutrition-- for every $1 spent through CalFresh (EBT) or WIC.

Update: 4505 Meats will not be selling the burger box at Mission Community Market, but it is available on their online shop. Swing by their tent for 100 percent grass fed beef to BBQ at the next Dolores Park outing. The 4505 Meats tent will also have locally raised pork, lamb, and rabbit. If you're only hankering for a snack, check out the bag of chicharrones for some crackling crisps.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
