Mission Bowling Club and Noe Valley Wine Merchants Near, and Food Truck News

Posted By on Thu, Mar 15, 2012 at 4:10 PM

The past 24 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the San Francisco food scene.

Invest in some bowling shoes, because the second restaurant-bowling alley to open in S.F. -- in less than a month -- will start setting up the pins this Monday. Inside Scoop shares some details about Anthony Myint's food program at the Mission Bowling Club, mainly that there will be a variety of food options (3176 17th St. at South Van Ness). And finally, after taking a peek at the menu, someone has answered our question about what's good bowling food: They have a whole section titled "food on a stick."

Name change: Inside Scoop discovers Ryan Scott's pending restaurant has changed its moniker to Market & Rye (from the good-mannered Please & Thank You). The casual restaurant may open as early as next week.

There will soon be a new place to sip and swirl. Eater SF shares that Noe Valley Wine Merchants is readying to open this Saturday (3821 24th St. at Church). Owner James Mead already has a bi-weekly tasting event in the works.

Food truck news: LiveSOMA reports that Euro Grill has taken over the parking lot on Sixth St. at Harrison. The post notes that unless you're grabbing something from the food trailer, you're not allowed to park there.

Tablehopper shares the sugary news, via a reader, that dessert truck SFDelights has hit S.F. streets. According to the SFDelights Facebook, it claims to be the city's first "mobile fusion dessert truck," and has been roaming the city since early February.

And Inside Scoop reminds us Off the Grid at Fort Mason will return next Friday (March 23). There's even a boozy addition to this year's food truck gathering -- a beer garden.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
