What: Bottle Cap is hosting the 1st Annual North Beach Whiskey Cocktail Competition!

Where: Bottle Cap, 1707 Powell St.

When: Wednesday, March 14th, 6-8 p.m.

Cost: 5 dineros for the first 100 through the door, 10 for each and all who follow in their wake

The Rundown: The competitive beverage wave finally crashes on the shores of North Beach as local watering hole Bottle Cap hosts the very first North Beach Whiskey Cocktail Competition. Four skilled bartenders from North Beach drinking establishments (15 Romolo, Txoko, Campanula, and of course Bottle Cap) will test their merit at crafting a fine "neighborhood-inspired" beverage from Michael Collins Irish Whiskey.

Attendees will not only be given the opportunity to put back a few of these possibly delicious drinks, they'll be given a voting bottle cap and a piece of the deciding factor in who walks away with a Goorin Bros. prize pack at the end of the night. Those in need of further social lubrication will be happy to note that Bottle Cap will be offering up it's weekly Whiskey Wednesday specials all night long. It's a little bit like Top Chef, but everybody gets wasted.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
