A legal dispute shuttered Martin Mack's over the weekend. Haighteration notes the 22-year-old pub was caught up in legal red tape between the long-term owner, Brian Maloney, and a former buisness partner from a different venture. As it stands, the ruiling granted by the courts gave the former partner ownership of Martin Mack's. A sign in the window says the spot will reopen under new management, but time will tell how the neighborhood embraces this change.
Something is astir at Circolo. Eater SF reports the restaurant will close on March 1 and reopen as an event space, but Inside Scoop says that's not the case at all. Starting March 1, according to the Scoop, the restaurant will change its days of operation and become a location for pop-ups and special events on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Hi-Lo and Hi-Lo Club: While the monikers are similar, these two forthcoming places are quite different. Eater SF discovers Hi-Lo, the BBQ restaurant slated for the Mission, is looking at June for a possible opening. Meanwhile in Polk Gulch, the pending Hi-Lo Club is still deep into the construction process. Fans of the shuttered KoKo's Cocktails will remember this is the descendant of their old, beloved neighborhood haunt. No opening date for the bar as of yet.
There's a new place to grab dollar oysters during happy hour. Thrillist shares Lot 7 is now open and serving seafood alongside a selection of brews (974 Valencia at 21st St.).
While Central Kitchen and the next door Salumeria were originally slated to open before month's end, a construction delay has pushed the Flour + Water spinoff restaurants' opening to Spring. Grub Street discovers Central Kitchen should open in late April, and Salumeria a few weeks after that.
