What: Lucky Peach Party

Where: Heart

When: Tue., November 15, 7-10 p.m.

Cost: $12

The rundown: Lucky Peach, McSweeney's newish journal of food and writing, is throwing a party to celebrate the release of their second issue. The theme is "the sweet spot," and the throwdown includes David Chang doing David Chang, fish killing 101, and a quest for prepubescent fruit. Yum! A portion of the proceeds will go to 826 Valencia, McSweeney's nonprofit tutoring center.

Your $12 includes a copy of the magazine, beer, wine, sweet treats from Miette and Momofuku Milk Bar, and finally, bologna. It doesn't get any more highbrow/lowbrow than that. Grab your Urban Outfitters' prescription-less Architect glasses* and head on down!

Tickets available.

*Also available at Claire's. Look for them under the name, "attitude glasses."

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
