Sustainable Eats, Local Beers, and Pumpkin Painting at Cal Academy!

What: October's Local Bites at Cal Academy

Where: California Academy of Sciences

When: Sun., October 23, 2-5 p.m.

Cost: $19.95 (non-members), $14.95 (members and their guests), $9.95 youth, 3 and under free

The rundown: This month's Cal Academy's Local Bites focuses on the bounty of fall. NoJo's Greg Dunmore, Palio D'asti's Dan Scherotter, Sol Hernandez of Sol Food, Betty Zlatchin Catering's Tom Rippy and Marlon Mariano from The Academy Café, will whip up the sustainable eats. There will be beer samples and pumpkin painting, so that basically covers the "fun for the whole family" aspect. Wherever there's beer and pumpkins, there will happy adults and children.
