Looks like Matt Brimer, the young chef de cuisine of Maverick, is set to leave the Mission bistro at the end of this weekend after less than a year in the kitchens there.
SFoodie was pretty much entranced by his lighter, tech-geekified approach to the restaurant's tweaked Americana, and Brimer seemed to win over the public -- or at least a few local food bloggers -- with his butter-larded burger. Maverick's executive chef and co-owner, Scott Youkilis, says he's already hired a new chef de cuisine, but isn't yet announcing the cook's name.
