The past 24 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the San Francisco food scene.

Because we can't get enough BBQ, another place is slated to open in the Mission, across the street from two of the partners' other venture: Hog & Rocks. Grub Street shares that Scott Youkilis and Eric Rubin, along with Dave Esler, are looking to open the bigger-is-better BBQ early next year. Look forward to meat from a 7,000-pound smoker and gallon pitchers of beer.

Another Fresh & Easy has moved into S.F. Inside Scoop shares that the British chain's arrival into Bayview-Hunter's Point marks the first new grocery store to open in the neighborhood in two decades (5800 Third St. at Carroll).

New chef: Coi has welcomed pastry chef Matt Tinder into the kitchen. Inside Scoop reports Tinder (formerly of Saison) replaces Deanie Hickox, who left for family reasons.

Food truck news: Oakland's Bites on Broadway has hit another bump in the road. What the Fork shares organizer Karen Hester never informed Alameda County's health department about the weekly event. Until Hester produces vendors' current health department paperwork, Bites on Broadway remains halted.
