On Monday we invited folks to tell us why we should give them two free $75 tickets to Dessert First, a three-hour party with desserts from 16 area chefs.

We had more than 50 entries, and many were quite good. But we managed to narrow them to six, and now we'd like you to vote on the winner.

All we asked was that people tell us in 140 characters or less why they should win. So use whatever standard of judging you like. Voting closes at 5 p.m. today. We'll announce the winner tomorrow, though it might be obvious by 5:01.

The event benefits Project Open Hand, which brings hot meals to homebound seniors and people with serious illnesses. If you're not one of the finalists, you can buy tickets here.

Now please vote!

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
