Ben & Jerry's is driving a truck around the Bay Area this month, dishing out free scoops of ice cream to all who ask.
When the ice cream starts off at free, you might ask, "What more could SFoodie possibly promise your loyal readers?"
How about a coupon for a free pint?
The truck is equipped with exactly 100 of these free-pint coupons, and workers have been instructed to deal them out only to people who know our supersecret password.
Which is ...
"Buzz Machine"
Yes, that's right, it's our daily wrapup of all the most breaking food news around the city. All you have to remember to keep up with the San Francisco food scene is "Buzz Machine." And that's all you have to remember for the free pint.
The truck will make its first appearance after this post today from noon to 4 p.m. at the corner of Fourth and Howard streets, adjacent to the Moscone Center.
Just bike on over and say, "Buzz Machine, Buzz Machine, Buzz Machine." Actually, you only need to say it once, but saying it three times fast might summon some sort of food demon, and that would be worth seeing.
If the coupons don't run out today, your next shot will be at the San Francisco Zoo on Sunday afternoon. The coupons will be doled out only at "public scooping events," not when the truck appears at private parties and the like. But you know, if you just get there this afternoon, you won't have to worry about it.
Follow the Ben & Jerry's scoop truck's locations. And don't forget the supersecret password. What was that again?
