With this week's big news that Slanted Door owner Charles Phan plans to revive his original restaurant space in the Mission District as Wo Hing General Store, a new Chinese restaurant with a heavy focus on both alcoholic and virgin drinks, we thought it a good time to toast with a cocktail at Phan's (and San Francisco's) most profitable restaurant.
The Agricole Rhum Punch (La Favorite Rhum Agricole Ambre with lime, cane syrup, Angostura bitters, allspice dram, and nutmeg on the rocks) benefits from a subtle hand with the aromatics. It's dangerously sippable, as a good rum tipple should be, and made us not care that we didn't have a dinner reservation. If you don't have one, either, and don't feel like waiting in line to eat, we suggest bellying up to the ample bar instead.
