Vegan Cupcake Bake-Off

Where: Rock Paper Scissors Collective

When: Saturday, June 11, 2-5 p.m.

Cost: $5

The rundown: It's a motherfucking walk-off. No, it's not, it's a motherflipping cupcake-off but I've always wanted to link to that since it's my favorite reality TV moment of all time. Well, one of them. Anyway, a cupcake-off is stressful hard work for the participants but for you, the eater and/or judger, it's AWESOME! Just show up at Rock Paper Scissors with $5 and you'll get a plate, fork, napkin, a fancy little badge, a score card, and a sample of each of the 10 competing cupcakes. Then you eat a lot and judge away, which is what you do best. See? It's a natural fit!

There will also be cupcake-themed things like photo booths (fun, you're so pretty!), craft tables (fun, you're so creative!), and more. The Ktchn loves vegan cupcakes more than those made with cow's milk and eggs and they're the ultimate tastemakers of the Internet (ever since we started calling them that) so hey, you're not better than the ultimate tastemakers of the internet, are you? Get up on this!

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
