Behind the Cart

Where: Secret location

When: Fri., May 20, 7:30-10:30 p.m.

Cost: $55; purchase via Eventbrite

The rundown: Michael "GrilledCheezGuy" Davidson has conceived a street-food vendor's answer to VH1's Behind the Music documentary series, a dinner featuring bites from informal food carts (including KitchenSidecar and SodaCraft) and concluding with an opportunity to hear about how these cottage businesses have navigated their way through the Bay Area pavement-cuisine scene. And while we suspect that this chat won't have the same success>spectacular failure>reunion story arc of Behind the Music, it'll leave a better aftertaste.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
