That reconcepting the owners of Spire alluded to last month, after shutting down their 6-month-old bar and restaurant near AT&T Park? Looks like it's happened already. For the past two weekends, the space at 685 Third St. (at Townsend) has hosted DJ nights as 3rd Degree Lounge. There's a 3rd Degree-plausible logo on the exterior close to 679 Third, but a Yelp page has been established for 3rd Degree listing the old Spire address (685 Third). It's tagged as a dance club and lounge, not an eatery. SFoodie sent an e-mail inquiry today to a Spire spokeswoman, but didn't receive a reply. Spire's Facebook page looks unchanged since the place shuttered a month ago.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
