Jug Sundays at Sutton Cellars
Where: Sutton Cellars, 601 22nd St. (at Illinois)
When: Sun., Mar. 13, 2-5 p.m.
Cost: Free
The rundown: Things are always better by the barrel: monkeys, fun. Also wine. This Sunday, Carl Sutton of Sutton Cellars hosts the first in a series of monthly wine events where he'll tap a full barrel of wine, available for tasting on-site and purchasing by the jug or liter bottle ($13.50-$15/liter). There'll be different food folks there each month to help things flow. This month it's Brandywine Hartman, who bakes with Shauna Des Voignes at Knead Patisserie, with fresh baked croissants. It's probably not a bad idea to grab brunch nearby at Hard Knox or Piccino, or get a burger beforehand at Serpentine. And of course, ice cream at Mr. and Mrs. Miscellaneous afterwards.
