Last month saw more transitions than a Bath Crashers marathon, as restaurants closed ― uh, temporarily ― to spruce up, reconcept, or otherwise dramatically cut payroll during the slowest month of the year, in the hope of opening up again when we're all in the mood to leave the house.

• Red and White (678 Chenery, at Diamond) closed; the owners are teaming up with Le P'tit Laurent's Laurent Legendre to renovate and reformulate as an oyster and wine bar
• Rose Pistola (532 Columbus, at Green) reopened after a break and a remodel courtesy of restaurant specialist Cass Calder Smith
• Jeremy Fox left Tyler Florence's restaurant empire after helping open Rotisserie and Wine (720 Main, at Fourth St., Napa)
• Spire (685 Third St., at Brannan) closed to renovate and possibly rethink its concept
