Celebrity Crab Cracking Festival

Where: Union Square

When: Sat., Feb. 26, noon-3 p.m.

Cost: Food and beverage tasting tickets $5 each or 6 for $25

The rundown: Round up your out-of-town relatives, grab your oversized digital camera, and put your sandals on over your socks ― it's time for a San Francisco 49ers crab-cracking hootenanny! In this ninth annual redux of the tourist mainstay, Union Square will again play host to quarterbacks and crab crackers galore. Free events include the noontime cracking demo followed by an all-you-can-crack competition (unclear if it's 49ers-only or if civilians can participate). There will also be food booths from S.F. standards like Sears Fine Foods and Boudin Bakery, a de rigueur beer and wine garden, and "activities for the entire family" (think bouncy castle). All proceeds go to charity, so feel free to tell everyone that's why you're going.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
