Pancakes and Booze Art Show
Where: The Artists' Alley Gallery, 863 Mission (at Fourth St.), 522-2440
When: Tonight, Feb. 18, 8 p.m.
Cost: $5
The rundown: A traveling temporary art show that started in Los Angeles and is traipsing across the country, Pancakes and Booze sounds like a rave (especially since it includes DJs, pop art, and mood lighting). Turns out the admission price includes an all-you-can-eat pancake bar, which sounds pretty good to us on a rainy Friday night. But here's the thing: Despite the name, we don't see any actual booze advertised, despite the beer stein in the promo art. There is, however, the promise of nude body painting. Whether that's icing on the cake ― er, syrup on the flapjack ― or a reason to stay away, totally up to you.
