The Carlo Espinas Sandwich at Pal's
When: Today, Feb. 9, starting at 11 a.m.
Where: Pal's Takeaway, inside Tony's Market, 2751 24th St. (at Hampshire), 203-4911
Cost: $9
The rundown: Today's installment of Pal's guest-chef sandwich series: Carlo Espinas of Comstock Saloon, with a Barbary Coast throwback of roasted pork belly, oyster dressing, and peppercress on Acme green onion slab. Careful ― pork fat stains are hell to get out of a tweed vest. Friday at Pal's, Evan Bloom and Leo Beckerman of deli pop-up Wise Sons are dropping off a batch of house-made rye bread. Pal's owner Jeff Mason says it's slated to frame a roast turkey sandwich with spicy honey slaw and Thousand Island dressing. SFoodie's plotzing.
