Next week's opening of Whole Foods Market's Haight location promises to bring an expanded selection of the store's locally sourced "Street Eats" product line from vendors with businesses born on the pavement. Besides curry paste and hot sauce from Magic Curry Kart, expect vegan currywurst from King of Currywurst, chai concentrate from the Chai Cart, empanadas from El Porteño and organic Filipino food from Hapa SF. Not officially part of the "Street Eats" but related will be new products from Azalina's (Malaysian jams and sauces).

There will also be two street-food events in the parking lot prior to opening. This Wed., Feb. 9, the Whole Foods taco truck will be selling (not tacos but) grilled cheese sandwiches, soup, and salad from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. And then on Feb. 13, from noon to 4 p.m., La Cocina businesses will offer fare during something called the "Good Food Celebration."

Opening Wed., Feb. 16:

Whole Foods Market: 690 Stanyan (at Haight).

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
