Inside Scoop says that Plate Shop (39 Caledonia, Sausalito, 887-9047, plateshop.net), Kim Alter's garden-focused restaurant, is set to open on Tuesday. Alter has been a sous-chef from Aqua and Ubuntu, and apparently her kitchen is well stocked with ex-Ubuntu cooks. Grub Street has a sample menu.
One more Tablehopper find from earlier in the week: the opening of Papi's Fusion Deli (2348 Mission, at 19th St.), from the owner of La Oaxaqueña. The pitch: tortas, burritos, etc., plus sandwiches and Asian salads and Mexican desserts. You know, fusion.
