Last night's street food panel hosted by Commonwealth Club's Inforum was a lively musing on the diverse and still-growing local mobile food scene. Is it a trend? "While it's trendy," said Off the Grid promoter Matt Cohen, "it's hopefully becoming a part of people's lives."

After the discussion, there was an afterparty at 111 Minna, featuring great grazing from a variety of food vendors, including the bike-powered Magic Curry Kart, pop-up (soon to be permanent) restaurateur Radio Africa, and homespun cart Toasty Melts.

Most telling, though, was the comment board that Inforum set up to poll the crowd about their street-food favorites. The people have spoken, and it looks like it's a heat between tacos and buns.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
