Monroe Races to Open, Laura Cunningham's Vita Is Dead

​The past 24 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the San Francisco restaurant scene.

Eater SF on the construction of a new lounge and private-event space in North Beach called Monroe (473 Broadway). The pitch: cocktails, minimal food, and horse porn. Okay, soft porn. Okay, just a glamorous horse picture.

The Inside Scoop print edition reveals that former French Laundry GM Laura Cunningham's Vita in Yountville is not going to happen. Also, Chef Elias Bikahi is out at Georges.

And from Eater SF comes word that Mazu (3809 Geary) in the Inner Richmond has closed.
