Abuelo Rum at Smuggler's Cove

Where: Smuggler's Cove, 650 Gough (at McAllister), 869-1900

The rundown: Put on your finest montuno and open up your locks for Pana-mania, as rum nucleus Smuggler's Cove hosts Ricardo Henriquez, master distiller for Panama's Abuelo. Well known among fans for its añejo rum releases and winner of several gold and silver awards from the Ministry of Rum, the discussion will include their field to bottle approach with the use of estate-grown sugar cane. Photos of the distillery and cane fields, plus rum tastings, Panamanian hors d'oeuvres, and Abuelo rum cocktail specials.
