Ari Weinzweig and Zingerman's Guide to Good Leading

Where: Omnivore Books on Food, 3885a Cesar Chavez (at Church), 282-4712

When: Sat., Jan. 15, 3-4 p.m.

Cost: Free

The rundown: You don't get national attention for a business based in Ann Arbor, Mich., without doing something right. Zingerman's co-founder Ari Weinzweig argues it was thinking like a hippie that put the zing in Zingerman's, as he discusses Zingerman's Guide to Good Leading: Part 1: A Lapsed Anarchist's Approach to Building a Great Business. Not as compelling as hearing a chef talk about her latest dessert tome, maybe, but we'll listen to anyone who wrote a whole book about bacon.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
