Dinner at Sanchez School Garden

Where: Sanchez Elementary School, 325 Sanchez (at 16th St.)

When: Tue., Jan. 11, 5-7 p.m.

Cost: $25, plus a dish to share

The rundown: School gardens are incubators of biologists, environmentalists, and anyone you hope to inculcate with the difference between a crappy Safeway strawberry and a deliciously perfumed one. Support Sanchez Elementary's existing growing beds ― and help get a pollinator garden started ― at a potluck dinner organized by Slow Food S.F. Starbelly chef Adam Timney has pledged to provide some of the eats; watch a video about the birth of Sanchez's vertical gardens here.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
