SFoodie had never heard about Cyber Monday until this year, even though it was created in 2005. Yesterday, our Twitter feed began spilling forth a torrent of blips about Cyber Monday deals. Today the tweetstream has risen higher. So, yeah, we spent half the morning poring over the website to see if there were any deals we'd consider pursuing.

The promotion is a little confounding -- many of the "participating" retailers aren't offering any special one-day deals. Amazon, for example, is trumpeting free shipping on Super Saver orders of $25 and over. Uh, isn't that the normal deal? Nevertheless, we found a few interesting sales on wine and cooking-related goods:

Good luck out there. Remember, there's always Cyber Returns Friday if you don't like what you've splurged on.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
