Since chocolate is a great gift for 99 percent of the population (and we don't trust the 1 percent who don't like it), three local confectioners have teamed up for a special holiday shopping event that could cross a lot of folks off your list in one go. Indulge in butter, almonds, and chocolate by Clarine's Florentines, fine classic truffles from Neo Cocoa, and bars with Asian accents courtesy of Jade Chocolates. Champagne and light appetizers will be served as a little gift to the shopper, and a dollar from the admission fee will be donated to Larkin Street Youth Services.

Holiday Shopping Soiree

When: Wed., Nov. 17, 5-9 p.m.

Where: Leland Tea Company, 1416 Bush (at Polk)

Cost: $5 (advance)/$6 (door)

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
