The Mole to Die For contest and tasting returns Wednesday to the Mission Cultural Center. Note the word "tasting": If you show up you'll be able to sample ― but not fill up on ― the complex sauce of many spices enshrined in Oaxaca. (A previous contest was the scene of a ruckus after it became clear some guests assumed a full meal would be offered.) You will get to vote with your mouth for your favorite(s), so enjoy the aromatic fun. For those who would like what organizers are calling "a more profound taste of Mexico," small plates of chicken in green mole will be offered. For a price.

Mole to Die For

When: Wed., Nov. 17, 7 p.m.

Where: Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts, 2868 Mission (at 25th St.)

Cost: $7; children age 11 and under are free

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
