Valleys in the News: Noe Gets Patxi's, Visitacion Gets El Buen Sabor

Posted By on Tue, Nov 9, 2010 at 8:00 AM

The past 24 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the

San Francisco restaurant scene.

It's not all about the Neapolitans: Mr. Paolo L., of the Inside Scoop, reports that Noe Valley is just a few weeks away from seeing the opening of its very own Patxi's Pizza branch. The Chicago-style pizza chain (yeah, you can get regular pies there, buy why?) already has locations in Palo Alto, Hayes Valley, and the Marina; another store in Lafayette is on the way. Target date: Dec. 1.

Mr. Jay B. of Grub Street SF also has empire-building news to impart. El Buen Sabor #2 (98 Leland) is in the works, a spinoff of 24th Street's Taqueria El Buen Sabor.

O ye valiant defenders of Dolores Park! The Parks Department is commercializing public space! (Er, leasing the Stow Lake Boathouse out to a different company from the one that used to run it, and adding sustainable and local food to the menu). Rise up in revolt!

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
