The Good blog has graciously extended the deadline for its Fantasy Food Truck Challenge in order to give SFoodie readers a shot at imagining their ideal meals on wheels. The submissions are now in and the public is invited to vote on the winner. Ours goes to Katie Facada and Mario Grijalva for Eats for All, a truck that collects leftover food from restaurants and distributes it free to the homeless and hungry, an idea that deserves to be explored.
Among other ideas: A Pierogi Palace, the Spicey Ricey Truck, a San Francisco-based beignet truck, and a Dump Truck for dumplings, though the creators of the latter clearly didn't read our report on downtown Portland food carts, where there is already a Dump Truck serving bacon cheeseburger dumplings among other dough-wrapped items.
