Esquire named Sean Baker of
Gather its 2010 Chef of the Year earlier in the week, so spirits are particularly high in this charming Berkeley restaurant right now. The cocktail we chose to toast his success succeeded in getting us pretty twisted. The Huerta Vida is a masculine concoction of Mezcal Vida, Orchard apricot liqueur, and lemon, with glossy droplets of habanero oil floating on top to give the drink a delayed smokiness and burn.
