A16 recently underwent some minor renovations to add some additional seats last month, and some simple touches have made a big difference. A steely gray-black coat of paint goes the furthest towards upping this comfortable restaurant's sexy factor.
What's also sexy: A16's seemingly lightning-speed service in dropping a hot pizza on your table.
Two hungry or three not-ravenous people would be quite content with the pizzas here, which are served at both lunch and dinner. The Funghi lays down an earthy and meaty base of seasonal mushrooms (right now they're pioppini and trumpet) on top of a melted layer of addictingly salty grana and smoked mozzarella cheeses, both beautifully contrasted with garlic and a scattering of slightly bitter dandelion greens. The crust, popping with baby leopard spots, is a robust chew, making A16's oversized slices seem that much heartier.
