Wanna Be a Chocolatier? Sterling Confections is For Sale

Posted By on Tue, Oct 5, 2010 at 9:50 AM

TasteTV has given us a sweet tip: Oakland's Sterling Confections, an exhibitor at the online/on-demand food network's upcoming Fall Luxury Chocolate Salon on Nov. 14, is up for sale.

Sterling works with several online and physical retailers (as well as wedding clients) around the country to sell its signature brightly hued and hand-painted truffle bars in flavors such as double hazelnut caramel, hot fudge sundae, banana honey caramel, and pineapple ginger macadamia nut, currently sold in six and 12-ounce sizes ($16.95 and $29.95, respectively). Company president Jim Martin, eyeing potential retirement, tells SFoodie that he'll field serious inquiries at 888-985-7343.

We're also hearing rumblings of another local chocolate company that may soon be looking for a new owner; more as it develops.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
