The Narwhal, Commonwealth's Liquid Nitrogen Slushie

Molecular gastronomy pops up sparingly at Commonwealth, like in a light cocktail frozen with the assistance of liquid nitrogen. The Narwhal is a lovely slushie made with ambrosia melon and lime, filtered sake, mint, and Floc de Gascogne, a French aperitif fortified with Armagnac. The Narwhal's ice crystals arrive barely stiff, so it all melts gently, with no brain freeze.

    Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday.
