The past 24 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the

San Francisco restaurant scene.

Not much happening this week. Perhaps everyone's in a carb lull between street food festivals. The sole bit of news:

Carolyn A. at Eater reports that North Beach's I Dream of Cake has closed. Apparently the success of Ace of Cakes and Cake Boss hasn't translated into success for local flights-of-fancy cake bakers.

SFoodie is relieved to report that we read nothing yesterday about the pending Ike's Place eviction.

The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
