Lovejoy's Sweet Potato Pie Tea

Lovejoy's Attic, across the street from Lovejoy's Tea Room in Noe Valley, is a sweet stop for loose tea to go when you're not enjoying a proper English tea service. The shop offers one true oddity with its sweet potato pie tea ($3.95 for three ounces), a blend of black tea with real sweet potato shavings. The result isn't cloying, but instead takes on a hearty depth that evokes chestnut. The tea isn't on the menu across the street, though it will occasionally pop up as a special, particularly around the winter holidays.

Lovejoy's Attic (1351 Church at Clipper), 648-6845.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
