The past 24 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the

San Francisco restaurant scene.

Marcia G. of Tablehopper
reports that Anthony Myint and Jason Fox's Commonwealth (2224 Mission, 355-1500) is planning to open Tuesday, August 10. The pitch: extremely innovative food, both a la carte and prix-fixe options, part of the proceeds given to charity.

In coffee news, Inside Scoop's Paolo L. learns that the much-rumored Ecco roastery and cafe (okay, much rumored if you spend $4 on your morning cup of coffee) will be at 1125 Mariposa in Potrero Hill. Founding partner Andrew Barnett should be roasting beans there as early as the end of the summer.

Meanwhile, Andrew at Haighteration reports that Little Skillet's former Christian Ciscle has found a landing spot: Cafe Divis

(359 Divisadero, at Oak). A few months back, SFoodie reported that Mike

Musleh, owner of Panini and the Pork Store, had taken over the spot and

intended to turn it into a second Panini.

Then we wondered why he hadn't installed a sign on the door. Turns out,

it was because he was waiting for the right concept. Cafe Divis is soon

to serve Blue Bottle coffee, pastries from current SFoodie sugar-rush

source Goody Goodie, El Porteño empanadas, Gobba Gobba Hey gobs, and a

short food menu that Ciscle is designing.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
