San Francisco Restaurant Gossip: Nothing to See Here

Being a summary of the past 24

hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the

San Francisco restaurant scene.

SFoodie finds itself in a bit of a dilemma today: There appears to be no new gossip to report. There are a few projects we're in the process of writing about, and more information is sifting in about places we've already reported on, but otherwise the glut of late-summer restaurant openings appears to have peaked. We feel disconnected and bereft, as if we dropped our cell phone in the toilet at at the start of a cross-country road trip.

What's on the horizon? The well-documented Benu is nearing its opening date, and we're eager for more intel about Black Sheep, Plum, Commonwealth, and Una Pizza Napoletana. (If you know anything, drop us a line.) Otherwise, someone better quit or get fired soon.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
