The opening hour of yesterday's first-ever Mission Community Market attracted a smattering of looky-loos (a few business suits mixed in with the hoodie- and yoga-pant-clad hipsters), who merged with produce fiends looking for a summer squash-blossom and stone-fruit fix.

This was the inaugural run for the market, which took over a block of Bartlett Street between 21st and 22nd. There was an actual skateboarding teen, and kids playing foursquare near the 22nd Street entrance. Also live music, a dance performance, and mural painting. Things felt intimate, with looming clouds and wind marking ushering in an authentic San Francisco summer evening.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
