Sisig: Filipino Favorite is S.F.'s Newest Breakout Dish

Tastebuds in San Bruno deep-fries whole, boneless bangus (or milkfish), peels off the skin, chops the meat in tiny bits, seasons it with vinegar, onions, and peppers and serves the fish sisig-style on the "de-fleshed" crunchy fried skin.

In San Francisco, the newest Filipino taco truck to hit the street food scene, Señor Sisig, which makes its first appearance at Off the Grid tonight at Fort Mason Center, is getting a lot of buzz for its sisig tacos, burritos, nachos, and rice plates. Señor Sisig joins the ranks of other Filipino street-food purveyors: Adobo Hobo, with its signature sisig tacos and chicken adobos, and Hapa SF, with its refined, contemporary take on sisig and other classic Filipino dishes.
