The All-Prospect Edition

The buzz machine is whirring, whirring, whirring over Prospect (300 Spear, 247-7770, www.prospectsf.com) ― not quite at vuvuzela volume but definitely producing a swarmlike sound. The pitch: a new Downtown restaurant from Boulevard's trio of chefs, with Ravi Kapur, the old chef de cuisine, leading the new kitchen. It promises a big cocktail lounge, more casual atmo, and edgier, "leaner" (their words) food. Just to get you up to speed, here's what's been reported:

Inside Scoop's Paolo L. got the first

look at the interior as it was still being constructed. Carolyn

A. at Eater SF interviewed

Ravi Kapur, and

more recently sent a photographer over to document

the finished space. UrbanDaddy, too, showed up to snap some pics. The fact that Prospect isn't even open yet hasn't kept Yelpers from issuing stars. Camper E. at Alcademics posted a copy of

Brooke Arthur's cocktail

menu for Prospect and tasted his way through eight of the 12

drinks, enjoying them all. Jay B. at Grub Street sat down with the

team behind Prospect ― Nancy Oakes, Pamela Mazzola, Kathy King,

and Ravi Kapur ― and later posted

the food menu (including photo evidence that even San Francisco royalty regards Prospect as too

irresistible to stay away from), but not before leaking the drinks menu.

The opening date is June 29, so until ― and on ― that magical day, look for more reports from (at minimum) Inside Scoop, Tablehopper, Thrillist, Eater, Grub Street, Urban Daddy, Daily Candy, and ― who can hold out forever? ― us. Zzz.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
