SusieCakes Throws Grand Opening Sock Hop

Posted By on Tue, Jun 22, 2010 at 5:01 PM

Ah yes, folks, more cupcakes-plus are on their way to San Francisco, this time thanks to SusieCakes, which already boasts stores in Greenbrae and in Southern California.

While you'll be likely to find us at their new Marina location fighting children for politely nibbling samples of confections like cookies and frosting-filled cupcakes at Saturday's grand opening sock hop, don't expect us to be in a poodle skirt; we're more inclined to rock the Rizzo look. The bakery will be raffling off the chance to win a one-year membership to its cake of the month club, and kids can take a shot at scoring a SusieCake created from their own design.

SusieCakes Grand Opening Sock Hop

When: Sat., Jun. 26, 2-5 p.m.

Where: SusieCakes (2109 Chestnut at Steiner)

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
