TasteTV is conducting a search for the next local television chef called Chefs Specials and will help up to 30 competitors put together interview and recipe demo packages as audition tapes. A judges' panel of food scene tastemakers as well as viewers will award the prize: a half-hour cooking special aired on local stations and 100 others around the country. Prospective entrants have until June 30 to apply (and come up with the $395 entry fee). It sounds like an interesting opportunity to see if you have what it takes to captivate in the kitchen and on television. Why should Brian Boitano have all the fun?

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
