The city warmly welcomed its newest farmers' market yesterday ― above, State Senator Mark Leno and former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown were present to cut the ceremonial vine to officially launch the Sunday Fort Mason Center market.

With foggy San Francisco Bay as backdrop, eager shoppers enjoyed live music, kids' activities, and plenty of artisanal food products and fresh produce from some of California's premiere organic growers. We went home stuffed with fruit samples and a bagful of Bing cherries from G & S Farms (above)...

The Fort Mason farmers' market is organized by the California Farmers' Market Association. It's open Sundays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m at Fort Mason Center.
